Our Missionaries

Woodville Community Church supports missionaries who are committed to bringing gospel centered mission work in their unique areas here in our community and around the world. We support and pray for each of our missionaries. Listed below are our current mission focus:

Dan & Tina Rudman with Ambassadors for Christ

Dan & Tina served twelve years in three different community ministries of Campus Crusade for Christ from Michigan, to California, and Kansas. Since 1995, Dan and Tina have lived and raised their now-grown five children in the Lawrence, Kansas area. Dan & Tina work in training Church Leaders in Evangelism, Church Planting, and Islamic Apologetics. They teach week-long conferences around the United States, as well as mobilize potential leaders to herald the gospel here and abroad.

Marlan & Mercedes Olson in Spain

Marlan & Mercedes are Church Planters in the City of Zaragoza, Spain. They arrived in Spain in 2006 serving with an established Spanish church for their first three years. In 2009, El Shaddai Church Plant was born in the living room of their small apartment. Nearly six years later the church has an approximate attendance of 40 per Sunday. 98% of those that have made a commitment to follow Jesus Christ were born again during the time of our ministry. The current church store front facility was ¨remodeled¨ in 2014, creating a sanctuary, classrooms, an office and a kitchen. As we look ahead over the next few years, we are praying for another couple, either from within the congregation or from America to come alongside us and eventually become the pastoral family for El Shaddai. This way we can concentrate on additional aspects of expanding the ministry.

Juan Antonio and Anna Romeu in Spain

Spain is a country in great spiritual need, with just a few listed below: Less than 1% of the population is evangelical Christian, the lowest percentage for Spanish speaking countries. Spain leads Europe in drug addiction, AIDS, and abortion. Humanism, Secularism, Agnosticism are widely embraced ideologies in Spain. Juan & Anna set up camps for young people geared for sharing Christ and interweaving their lives with young people. L’Arcada’s Mission is to create a special environment by developing different events, camps and conference centers, of great capacity, where people hear, see and experience Jesus Christ

Mark Sterken with ABWE International

Mark Sterken has a passion to help facilitate growth in the Church of Jesus Christ, resulting in church planting movements that launch mission movements to the glory of God. Their goal is to see the Church grow in the Caribbean and Latin America by building partnerships with church's in the states. His plain is to provide help in four ways: Training by equipping pastors and Christian leaders through theological training, leadership developments, and personal discipleship; Connecting and building partnerships and prayer support by presenting needs for foreign churches around the globe to churches in the states; Mobilizing and recruiting men and woman throughout the United States to reach out into the world using the gifts and abilities God has given them; Resourcing by providing national leaders with Bibles, books, teaching materials, as well as funding for building projects and emergency relief outreach.

Gary Teja with Multiplication Network Ministry (Vice President of Ministries)

Not long after Gary and his wife Jackie were married, they moved to Nicaragua where God had called them to plant a church. From 1974-1990 they worked in a variety of roles through Christian Reformed World Missions (CRWM) in both Nicaragua and Costa Rica. Gary's experience as a church planter provides him with a compassion for the men and women around the world who are working to expand God's kingdom. As Multiplication Network Ministries' (MNM) first Vice President of Ministry, Gary plays a unique role in the organization. As the ministry grows, one of Gary's primary responsibilities is to assist our global staff in staying "on vision" as they maintain and grow relationships with MNM's ministry partners. Gary also plays a major role in the continual strengthening of existing ministry tools and the formation of new materials. John Wagenveld, Executive Director of MNM, considers Gary an asset to the ministry. "Having Dr. Gary Teja on the MNM team enhances and deepens the team of strong leaders. Gary's experience church planting in Central America, his Ph.D. in adult learning and his knowledge of cross-cultural missions and Islamic studies is a huge benefit to the ministry. His skills and expertise come with character and team player attitudes."

At Woodville Community Church, we believe it is an incredible privilege to, in the words of Psalm 96:3, “declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous deeds among all peoples.” That leads us to prayerfully find ways together to declare God’s glory, to proclaim His good news, and to be servants to people in need – around the world and right here in West Michigan.

Our Missions and Outreach is organized around three primary tasks: Global Outreach, Local Outreach, and Evangelism.

What we want most is to see each person here at Woodville Church involved in word and deed Gospel witness, in our community and around the world. Whether by helping the poor and oppressed right here in Big Rapids and White Cloud, supporting our missions partners as they share the good news of Jesus Christ in their areas of mission work.
